Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use Gunzo™, a UK-based platform for listing air rifles, shotguns, and accessories. We believe in keeping things simple, transparent, and secure.

1. Who We Are

Gunzo is operated in the United Kingdom and follows UK GDPR requirements. We’re committed to privacy by design, and we only collect the data we truly need to run the platform securely and fairly.

2. What We Collect

We may collect the following data when you sign up or use Gunzo:

  • Your name and email (for account access)
  • Listing content and uploaded images
  • Postcode prefix (used to calculate nearby listings)
  • Technical data (IP address, browser, device)
  • Transaction records (not card details)

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to operate Gunzo securely and legally. We do not sell your data, and we never will.

  • To create and manage your account
  • To display your listings and allow messages
  • To verify identity and enforce our listing policies
  • To send essential messages (account, payments, listing updates)
  • To fulfil tax or legal recordkeeping requirements
  • To prevent misuse or fraud (e.g. mislisting categories)

4. Storage & Security

We use secure, encrypted infrastructure hosted in the UK or EEA. Access is strictly limited and logged. All content is protected via industry-standard encryption.

If you delete your account, your listings and personal data are removed. Some minimal metadata (e.g. anonymous transaction history) may be retained where legally required for tax or audit purposes.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party processor. We do not store or access your card details. We may retain basic transaction data (e.g. listing type, fee amount, timestamp) to support refunds, payments history, and prevent fraud or category abuse.

6. Misuse or Abuse

Users found attempting to bypass listing fees (e.g. posting guns under “accessories”) may have their accounts restricted and listings removed. In these cases, listing fees may not be refunded. We retain the right to log and review such activity for safety and platform integrity.

7. Cookies

At Gunzo, we take a minimal and privacy-conscious approach to cookies. We only use essential cookies required for secure logins, session management, and core site functionality. We also use lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics to understand site performance, with no advertising, retargeting, or invasive tracking.

In line with UK privacy law (including GDPR), we ensure that any non-essential cookies are strictly optional and fully under your control.

You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings, and doing so won’t break most features of the platform. For full details about how we use cookies, including a breakdown of the types we use and how to manage your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.

8. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you can request to:

  • View or download your data
  • Correct or update your personal info
  • Delete your account and associated content
  • Object to processing in specific circumstances

To make a request, please reach out via our Contact Page.

9. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of GDPR-compliant infrastructure and payment providers to operate Gunzo. These services are carefully chosen and only receive the minimum data necessary to deliver secure functionality.

10. Updates to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as our platform evolves. Material changes will be clearly published. Your continued use of Gunzo means you accept the current version.
